The #Buffet : #BeauRivage in #Biloxi

Hello friends, I have been away for a long time huh? I know that some of you visited my blogs to check what I was up to and I thank you for doing so. Much as I wanted to post an update, my work has keep me bounded from doing so. I am still a foodie, checking all the casino buffets for great food and for now, I will be sharing some of the photos that I took while dining in a #buffet at the #BeauRivage #Resort and casino here in Biloxi, #Mississippi .

In this resort, they have 4 types of restaurants that may ignite your appetite. For Fine Dining, they have BR Prime which guests can enjoy American cuisine and JIA for guests who wants to satisfy their cravings for an Asian Cuisine. For Casual Dining, they have the Buffet, Terrace Cafe' (for peace and quiet dining experience) , Stalla (Italian) and Coast Restaurant for sports fanatics. Not only that, this resort has a Quick Bite Restaurants as well. Guests can visit the Snacks, Roasted Bean, Scoops and the Pool Bar and Cafe'. Of course, if you love the night life, you will never get hungry in this resort. They have Eight 75, Coast and Breeze Bar. There's a lot of venue to eat and enjoy in this resort if you are a foodie.

When my husband and I visited the Beau Rivage, we play the slot machine for a moment and go eat at the buffet. The last time we eat, I did not enjoy the food really. The selections are few and not the food that I crave to eat. Well, compared to the last time that I was here. Maybe the cook is different huh? Anyway, I just eat a plate of seafood and pick some desserts. Considering that we pay the regular price, it's not worth it on this visit.

I must say that the coffee tastes great as always and this carrot cake is delicious as well.

I also enjoyed my cheese cake.

I requested to sit on a booth but, the host gave us the table that I do not like to be seated. A busy area. The busser pass all the time with her cart full of dirty dishes. Don't get me wrong though. This is my favorite casino in the area because it is huge and there's so much to do here. I've been dining here for the nth times but, on this particular visit, I am disappointed with my dining experience.

I will eat in the buffet again but, not the soonest time.

Cruising the Coast: Business is Booming

Last week, the city of Ocean Springs had a big activity. It's Cruising the Coast and all those beautiful old cars were on display showing their shiny, great condition and good looking antique cars. We parked our car at my sister-in-law's parking lot and just walked about two blocks to see the display.

We had a good time and it was a beautiful day. All the Boutiques, Ice Cream Parlors, Restaurants, even your local guitar center store and Mom and Pop stores were booming in business that week. For more #CruisingtheCoast photos, check out my other blogs. Blogs are listed on the side. Check it out.

Baking a #MardiGras King Cake

Yayy! I was able to bake King Cake successfully using the recipe of the video below. I was looking at so many recipes but, I decided to use PartyTimeBatonRouge's recipe because from the name itself, she is from Louisiana (assuming hehehe) . Who could go wrong when it comes to taste and cooking prowess from the people in this place eh? Check the video to know the ingredients and even if you are not a pro baker, you can follow her instructions easy.
I was really excited while baking this King Cake. I was in the mood for Mardi Gras hehehe. The dough tastes good. The King Cake is supposed to be festive and sweet so; since I have "tons" of beads, I decorated my KIng Cake with beads around it. Sweet? Not too sweet for me because I lessen the sugar.
The king cakes below are just throw back pics which I found in one of my folders. We bought the cake from Rouse's, a grocery store which is popular in Mississippi. As you can see, there's a plastic baby at the middle and of course, the beads on the side to reflect Mardi Gras.
On my next King Cake, I want to use chunks of cheese as filling, making it a cheese bread. I will try to braid it too and add yellow and lavender colors. Anyway, I hope your Fat Tuesday celebration turns out fun with family and friends. It's Ash Wednesday today so; if you are a Catholic, visit the church and let us do our obligation today. Are you ready for Lent Season? I am.
For main ingredients : flour, eggs, yeast, milk, sugar, cinnamon, and butter. For the measurements and procedure, refer to the video.

That's all for now friends and thank you for visiting my blog always. Have a great day today.

Morning Breakfast at the BeauRivage

I remember this yummy goodness breakfast. After working on a graveyard shift in Boomtown, hubby will pick me up and we will choose which casino/hotel to have our breakfast. On this day, we decided to have our breakfast at the Beau Rivage, my favorite place in Biloxi. Their endless food display is enticing and mouth-watering. Oh, I miss this place.

This is the entrance of the casino/hotel located in:

875 Beach Blvd Biloxi, MS 39530
(228) 386-7111

From my workplace, it's about 4 minutes drive. Hubby and I will have breakfast before we head home. We took the route of Beach Boulevard passing the Bay Bridge and turn right to the Front Beach and East Beach in Ocean Springs. I love seeing the sunrise every day. Anyway, this is the elegant front view/entrance of the Beau Rivage.

Here are the rates in their Casual Dining , The Buffet :

Well, we always have a half price every time we dine. Basically, we know which casino/hotel/resort  to go on a particular day to avail the Early Bird Special.

If you happen to visit in the Gulf Coast of Mississippi, visit Biloxi. You will enjoy the amazing view, the great Sothern food and the beach. Highly Recommended!

Satisfaction Buffet in Hard Rock Biloxi Mississippi

It's Yummy Sunday once again and my food cravings are oozing! I love the buffet in Hard Rock in Biloxi especially on a Wednesdays and Fridays for the 50% off , a $10/person. Hubby and I love the cajun food, the sea foods and the affordable price in the casino/restaurants in Biloxi. When we went to Mississippi for Mardi Gras three weeks ago, we enjoyed the food in Hard Rock, the Isle and Beau Rivage. One of the cooks in Hard Rock is a Filipino so, I always have my first plate from the Asian counter.I don't usually eat desserts but, when I am in Hard Rock, I always have cheese cake and a cup of coffee. When we live in Mississippi for almost two years, hubby and I always dine in the casinos and the restaurants. Sometimes we drive to New Orleans for a cup of gumbo and beignets. Anyway, if you want to visit the Gulfcoast, check out the restaurants/casinos/buffet's in Biloxi. You will be amazed! There are 8 casinos in the area and I worked in one of them. That is why, I enjoyed the buffets than playing the slots. Thanks for stopping by this week. I will see you in your blogs.

Dine in the Satisfaction Buffet at Hard Rock

When I am craving for Filipino foods, Chinese Buffet is a good alternative. But, when we live in Mississippi, Satisfaction Buffet in Hard Rock is where we go to substitute my food cravings. We went to Biloxi for Mardi Gras and stayed three nights for FREE in the Isle Hotel. I might asked Hard Rock next time to also sponsor our stay right? The picture below is the Satisfaction Buffet in the Bakery area. Here's another area for Italian food, soups and salads. Hubby's first plate: Cajun food. Here is the Grill area and next to it is the Asian area. I met their cook before and he was a Filipino. If you come to Hard Rock to dine in the Satisfaction Buffet every Wednesdays and Fridays, it will cost you less than $10. Check the time before you dine because if it's after 6PM on a Friday, they will charge you $20+/person. Make sure that you have your Hard Rock card and if you have no card, get it at the service counter. It is really worth it.,

Mc Cafe Hot Chocolate at Mc Donalds

How was your night everyone? Did you have a good sleep after watching the NBA All Star Game or the Oscars? I did not bother to go downtown and watch the NBA stars because I know for sure that crowd will be nasty later on. There was indeed a fight after the game. Anyway, I had a wonderful time watching the OSCARS on TV. I bet you did too. Let's talk about food and drinks now. While we were in Mississippi, hubby and I have our favorite McDonalds location, it's in 1323 Bienville Blvd Ocean Springs, MS 39564. It was a chilly morning so I ordered the Mc cafe Hot Chocolate. I love the creaminess and the aroma of the cocoa, just makes me relax. Here's hubby buying his Mc Cafe coffee. The lady at the counter is a Filipino, I think :-) Thanks for stopping by y'all!

King Cakes at Rouses

This is a Louisiana-style King Cake with lemon and cream cheese filling topped with colorful sugary icing. King cakes are part of the tradition for Mardi Gras celebration. We bought this particular king cake at Rouses, our favorite supermarket in Ocean Springs Mississippi. We went to Mississippi last week for Mardi Gras. Did you know that ISLE Hotel and Casino sponsored our stay for three nights and all FREE? Oh, Hubby and I had a wonderful time in the cozy hotel. We saw our family and friends out there and we really enjoyed watching the parade, caught some beads too.Oh, see the little baby at the middle of the cake? It's a trinket which represents Baby Jesus. Actually, King Cake takes its name from the Three Kings. Here's one picture that I took during the D'Iberville Mardi Gras parade. If you want to see more pictures of Mardi Gras Parade, check my other blogs. Thanks for stopping by.

Buffet in Hard Rock Biloxi

One of the things that we do while we live in Mississippi is dining out in the buffet, playing the slot machines, crabbing, fishing and casino hopping. This is Hard Rock Biloxi's satisfaction Buffet. There was no big crowd on this particular Wednesday. There were new servers but, our server was the old Vietnamese woman. There was a Filipino employee in the buffet area. I saw him in the Italian section.Because we are in crisis, I think the casino business in this area is hurting so bad. After the katrina and the oil spill plus, the bad economy that we have now, people are saving money than gamble.
The buffet lacks the seafood this time. My husband was looking for crab legs and shrimps but, they do not serve it this time.
The picture above is the entrance to the buffet from the casino area.
As you can see, there were vacant seats unlike before, people are waiting in a long line. The price is sti; the same every Wednesday, half the price.

Seafood Galore

We went to the shrimpboats at the back of Hard Rock Biloxi and bought 20lbs of jumbo shrimps for $4/lb to give to friends back to Florida. The price of small shrimps in Orlando is $9/lb just like the picture below. What we have is really bigger than this.
This shrimp is small size. It is usually priced as $2/lb but, we wanted a jumbo so, that's what we got.
My husband ate the crab meat which I am not a fan of. I was actually looking for crawfish but, this is not it's season. So, no one sells crawfish at this time.
This is the blue crab which is a famous catch along the Gulf Coast. They are so beautiful and big too. If it is a crab season, you can catch it easy.
Well, the house smells like shrimps now. Let's chow everyone!
