Mardi Gras in D'Iberville

When we live in Mississippi, we are excited of the Mardi Gras Parade. Hubby and I would go to every Mardi Gras parade scheduled in the city and nearby the state such Louisiana and Alabama. This event every year is truly exciting and fun! These guys are giving out hotdogs and burgers for FREE! Such an awesome project huh!The pictures here were taken last year at D'Iberville. We went there as a family because the siblings of my husband were there. They were there first and they told us that this people are giving away FREE food for the crowd! I just admire their cause.I got a hotdog and hubby had a burger. Saves us money really! Everyone enjoyed the FREE food with drinks in can!
Even if the sun shines so bright, the weather is just perfect for me.
I enjoyed my hotdog and mountain dew but look here, these people enjoyed it too! Free Food taste good huh?

Cleaning Company in Austin

A year ago, when husband and I were looking for a house to buy, we came across with cheap priced houses. We were very curious so we scheduled a viewing for the property. The house looks beautiful outside and it's huge but, we found the reason why it's cheap as we went inside. The property needs minor restoration because it was caught on fire three months ago. The owner had a traumatic experience so, she decided to sell it. Anyway, we did not bid for that property. It will be a hassle but, there are companies who can restore that property easy such as http://www.thesteamteam.com/austin-restoration-services/smoke-fire.shtml . If you live in Austin Texas and looking for commercial upholstery cleaning austin, visit the links here and schedule an appointment.

Let's Eat Gumbo

Actually, this is not the normal Louisiana gumbo because there is no shrimp and okra. Other vegetables needed to make a gumbo is everything here. I used spices that I can find in the pantry but, you can actually buy a gumbo mix usually from Louisiana.
Hubby loves Southern cooking so, any food that taste like Louisiana cooking, he loves it! Gumbo is more tastier with craw fish in it. Oh! I missed eating craw fish too, that's affordable in Mississippi where we live.

Comfortable Scrubs

Have you notice the difference of the uniforms worn by medical nurses, surgeons, and other operating room personnel these days? It's comfortable, available in different colors and the design is very pleasing to the eyes. It is a comfortable wear specially when they are in the operating room. Check this site to see some of the scrubs: http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/categories/Scrubs/Scrubs-for-Women/Original-Scrubs/. Some hospitals use scrub color to differentiate between patient care departments such as Emergency, Surgery, Labor and Delivery, and many more. Sometimes, it also distinguish between licensed patient care personnel and unlicensed assistive personnel as well as non-patient care support staff. For me, the most interesting scrubs are those that features cheerful prints worn by pediatricians' offices and children's hospitals. Their scrubs are truly interesting! If you want to buy cheap scrub uniforms just visit the Website now.

Romano's Macaroni Grill

The other day, we went to Waterford Lakes and just roamed around the area. We visited few of the boutiques, grocery and apparel stores. By lunch, we were looking for a new place to dine in. We decided to check out ROMANO'S MACARONI GRILL. The ambiance was great and I felt the Italian feel. Here's what happened while we dine in at 315 North Alafaya Trail, Orlando Florida 32828.

Hubby ordered Eggplant Parmigiana which looks pleasant and the taste is very good. It's a huge portion too which my husband enjoyed the whole time! He hated the side pasta which is capellini, thin hair pasta. He ate the eggplant and not the pasta. He never asked for a box, it just taste awful! Our friend ordered Spaghetti Bolognes which she totally enjoyed and finished it completely. The only complain she had was the waiter never came back on us to check if we enjoyed the food and no refill for our drinks and roll. My order was Pollo Caprese which is a juicy chicken grilled with extra virgin oil served with capellini pomodoro with fresh mozzarella. My chicken was first of all NOT JUICY and it's TOUGH to slice using the table knife. I can see that it's a frozen pork and what happened when you cook a frozen meat into grill? TOUGH! I don't like thin hair pasta but, my bad it's too late to know the word behind CAPELLINI, LOL! I ate 10% of the food and i never enjoyed my tough grilled chicken with only 2 small pieces of mozarella. The presentation is bad because the chicken lay on the withered parsley. Geez! If I have to go back to this specific restaurant? NO! If I have to order this entree? NO! I might visit the other location though, check some other menu. The service we had is simply BAD!

Insurance Quotes

If you own a vehicle, part of the reponsibilty is to have a car insurance before you can run in to public roads. If you are looking for an insurance company, make sure that they have an outstanding customer service, with flexible payment plan and affordable premiums. You should also consider the basic information of what you are covered for.

If you can afford it, get the best coverage because that will save you money in the long run. If you injure/kill someone, get the bodily injury liability. You can also get a personal injury protection coverage where it pays medical expenses. Then, there's an uninsured motorists coverage where it pays for your injuries when an uninsured driver caused the accident. These are just few of the coverage that you may want to consider. So, get a FREE quote today!

Coconut Cake with Buttercream Icing

I am not fond with cakes but, today I told my husband that I wanted to eat a coconut cake. We were in Mississippi when our cousin served us a coconut pie that I like. It's a young coconut so, it taste sweet and tender. We went to Publix and found this intead. After slicing, I realized that this is not it!

I was actually looking for a coconut pie with a thin crust. Too late now! I need to eat this before I can start looking for a coconut pie:-) In fairness, this is delicious!
This is my entry today for Yummy Sunday!

Intervention

Thanks for the post, Calvin Roberts:

Ever since me and my husband decided to invest in tvbydirect.com we have been watching a lot of the A&E show Intervention. I have worked in the mental health field for a long time so I have plenty of experience in dealing with addiction to drugs and alcohol and it is nice to watch this show, it is kind of like looking in from the outside of what I do. I love that this really involves the family and friends of the addicts. It shows that addiction hurts everyone around and is not exclusively the addict's problem. It never places blame or ridicule but offers solutions and help which is exactly what an addict needs. The show really makes it clear that drug and alcohol addiction are sicknesses that need treatment just like the flu or cancer. Addicts cannot just stop on their own anymore than a cancer patient can get rid of a tumor just by thinking about it. My favorite part of the show is the actually intervention. It is also so suspenseful not knowing if the addict will accept the help or not. I also love the short follow up at the end that shows them either in treatment doing great, or that they have failed and are back on the streets. Of course I hope everyone gets help and succeeds but there are cases when it just isn't enough.

Raspberry

Summer means fun, beach, rejuvenate, family bonding and relaxation! But, it also means heat, thirst, sweat, dehydration, hay fever, allergy and the best way to counter all that is to take more fluid and freshen up! Fruits such as watermelon, mangoes, papaya, blueberry and raspberries are thirst quenching fruits that I crave in summertime.Raspberry contains significant amount of antioxidant that gives protection against several human diseases. It is rich in vitamin C and rank near the top of all fruits for antioxidant strength. It taste a little bit sour that is why I top it with Hershey's Ice Cream and I took an easy chair relaxation...yum!

Beef and Chicken Vegetables with Chili Beans

I am not a cook therefore, I always experiment with our meals "everyday". So far, my greatest fan who loves the food that I served on the table is my husband. I am so proud to say that, preparing for meals are no sweat for me :-)This is Beef and Chicken Vegetable with Chili Beans and cooked using my best kitchen buddy, the "crock pot". Honestly, crock pot do wonders most of the time hehehe. Beef and chicken cooked as one entree? That would be me, experimenting LOL!

Beau Rivage Breakfast Buffet

After working in the Casino the whole evening, I was just too tired to go home and prepare for breakfast. So, the easiest way out was to have breakfast in other casinos. By the way, the food in my workplace was FREE and we can order anything including hot meals. Anyway, after I punched out from work, hubby and I went to Beau Rivage for a good breakfast. I usually pay less than $25 including tip such a routine every morning when we live in Mississippi last year.So far, this is my most favorite Buffet in all the casinos in Biloxi, Mississippi. Simply because the selection of food is totally plenty. The ambiance is good and if I wanted to go shopping after, I can! This place is totally gorgeous and a bit expensive too:-) The cheapest price for food in the buffet is more or less $10 plus tax and tip. If there are special dinners, it usually go up to $28.99 plus tax and tip. I know, it's a bit expensive but, the food is truly great!

Yummy Malagkit

I was inspired to make "malagkit" or "biko" today because I was drooling to eat a "torta" which was posted in one of my favorite FB group "Kagay-an Kaniadto". As I was thinking about that native food, I checked my pantry and saw my "malagkit" sticky rice. So, here it is!
This is my first attempt to make a "Biko" or "Malagkit" therefore, I refer my measurement and ingredients thru Panlasang Pinoy which is one of my favorite food website. It is so easy to make especially now, that I know where to find native ingredients. I usually go to a Puerto Rican or Mexican store. This is my entry for Yummy Sunday. Please drop by to see more yummy foodie entries this week.

Sweet and Sour

Just a thought of sharing one food that I missed a lot, sweet and sour. While working in the casino in Mississippi, our food is FREE. We have an employee canteen and we can order hot food because we have our own chefs. By the way, the minimum wage in that casino is $9.00 per hour but here in Florida, it's a lot lower ----> $7.75. Pretty sad huh?
Anyway, back to food----> yeah, in the casino where I worked for almost 2 years, food is FREE. They also gave us a huge turkey for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Coffee, ice-cream, cakes and sodas are FREE anytime. I guess, here in Florida, everything is not. Here is my entry for Yummy Sunday, check it out and join us.

Olive Garden

Despite the family ambiance of Olive Garden, it had negative buzz regarding the incident happened few months ago when a 2 year old mistakenly served with alcoholic sangria. Accident like this occur once in a blue moon but, the negligence on the part of the employee should be reprimanded because it is the business which will suffer brutal scrutiny. When it comes to service, each location served differently, that's what I observed. The management address this incident by having new regulations on how to prepare children's beverages. That's what I love about this place. They respond to problems and immediately armed themselves with solution. I must admit that some of the locations of Olive Garden made us wait for so long even though the crowd was minimal plus the food was served beyond the allotted time. Anyway, my visit to yesterday's Olive Garden near Florida Mall was Excellent! They always are actually and I recommend this location!I had a good lunch, the gentleman is a good server who always check on us and my Sampler Italiano is perfect. I was with my husband and a friend, the three of us had a wonderful time in Olive Garden at 1555 Sand Lake Road, Orlando, FL 32809.
