#Costumes for #Pets

Awww! I just remember the pet of my friend which is so cute on Halloween night. Do you have a pet? If you do, I bet you bought costumes and toys all the time. I have no pet but, I want to have a puppy, the cutest one. I also like fish and birds. The latter, I can find a costume don't you think? Oh well, puppies and cats share tons of available pet halloween costumes compared to other pets. I assume that these two pets are the most popular because they are great companion and they are intelligent enough to understand what's going on. What do you think?

#Holiday #GiftIdea : #Chocolates

Time was when Marie Cavanaugh spent hours in her South Dakota farmhouse each #Christmas season making pecan rolls and homemade chocolates for holiday gifting.

"It started when my aunt sent her pecan-rolls recipe," Mrs. Cavanaugh recalled. "I gave the recipe my own touch and started making the yummy specialties. Then I began dipping chocolates. Our friends and neighbors loved these treats, encouraging me to start a candy business. Finally, I decided it might be a good idea.'"

Her husband George and children Carla, Lorraine, Calvin, Colene and Genise rallied, helping Mrs. Cavanaugh fill demands for her homemade sweets.

...In 1972, the family moved to Utah, leaving good friends and their beloved cattle ranch.

"It was a difficult decision, especially for George," Mrs. Cavanaugh said. "He was excited about making our new venture, which we chose to call Mrs. Cavanaugh's Candies, a great success. We felt Utah was blessed with good chocolates and that we would enjoy - and could compete with - those who pride themselves on making excellent chocolates."

Millions of pounds of chocolates later, Mrs. Cavanaugh's candies have earned a reputation for unquestionable excellence....

You Know Something Crazy?

Okay, I admit that after all this time, I did not use my guitar. It's been awhile! You know something crazy? I did not use my DSLR for months now too, LOL. I guess I have too many gadgets to manipulate for me to take for granted great stuff. Right now, I have a desktop, 2 laptops, an iPad, and 2 smart phones so; these are my excuses. Oh yeah, I am keeping these stuff for me. I already sent and gave some to my family back home last May. Anyway, we have 3 big TV's in this 4-bedroom house which my husband and I bought 3 months ago. We have a pool and a huge area for my gardening activity too.Anyway, I am defensive huh? Guess what I am doing right now? On Sale browsing for guitars LOL.

Dining at #McDonalds

Fast food is not my typical kind of food but, there are times that I crave for them. Since we were traveling since Monday, we stopped at #McDonalds all the time. We ordered coffee, hot chocolate, fries, burgers and yap, used their rest rooms as well, LOL. We love this place because it's convenient, clean and the food is great. Let's be honest, most of the time their food is great! Unless if you are calorie-conscious, you might disagree.

When I craved for fries, this order is nothing! I need two of these with ketchup and mayo. Oh so good!

Cruising the Coast: Business is Booming

Last week, the city of Ocean Springs had a big activity. It's Cruising the Coast and all those beautiful old cars were on display showing their shiny, great condition and good looking antique cars. We parked our car at my sister-in-law's parking lot and just walked about two blocks to see the display.

We had a good time and it was a beautiful day. All the Boutiques, Ice Cream Parlors, Restaurants, even your local guitar center store and Mom and Pop stores were booming in business that week. For more #CruisingtheCoast photos, check out my other blogs. Blogs are listed on the side. Check it out.

Oh So Good #LecheFlan

What are you doing this weekend? Me, I just stayed home for I have a stomach bug. I did not go to attend the mass either. My craving today led me to make a caramel custard or crème caramel. Back home, we call this custard dessert as Leche Flan simply because it is made of condensed milk (leche) , egg yolks and sugar.
A close up shot to show the creaminess of this leche flan.

Ingredients:
- 1 can of condensed milk
- 1 cup fresh milk
- 1 cup sugar
-1 tsp vanilla extract
- 10 egg yolks

Instructions:
1. Put the egg yolks in a bowl, beat them
2. Add the condensed milk and mix well
4. Add the fresh milk and mix well
5. Add the vanilla extract then, set aside this milk and egg yolk mixture.
6. In a heated pan, add the granulated sugar and mix until the sugar is caramelized.
7. Spread the caramelized sugar on your leche flan mold evenly.
8. When it is cool enough, add the egg yolk and milk mixture on the mold.
9. Cover the mold with an aluminum foil.
10. Steam the mold for 35 minutes.
11. When it is done, let it cool down. You may refrigerate it for an hour.

As for me, I cannot wait for another hour. I usually eat it right after it cools down. Oh, this is so yummy! You should try it.

By the way, I bought this steamer few years back and this is where I steam my leche flan. If you have a rice cooker, usually it comes with a steamer pan in it, you can also use it. It works perfect!

Try it and let me know how was it.

#BakeitFun With My New #BakingMat

I received the Non-Stick Silicone Baking Mat about two weeks ago and on the first day, I tried baking on it with Garlic, Herb and Cheese Knots and guess what, I was totally impressed. This is my first time to use a silicone baking mat and I have to re-read the product description for safety reasons.
Baking Garlic, Herb and Cheese Knots Using the #BakingMat .
And ... Wow! It does survive the heat in the oven. In fact; aside from the oven, it can be use in the microwave or freezer. It is indeed a high temperature resistant. I was actually worried at first if I was preparing it correctly and also if the baking mat affects the flavor of my garlic knots but, it doesn’t. I tried to bake using two baking pans; one has a silicone baking mat and the other pan has a foil. Both came out perfect.

Considering that I have to bake a food on it, I made sure that the product is Nontoxic. There are compounds out there that are harmful and can cause cancer and since this baking mat is BPA free, it’s all I need to know. It is safe to use because it is certified and FDA approved. Would I recommend this product? Yes, I do! By the way, the shipping and handling was fast and I got this product in good condition.

What I love about the experience of using the #BakeitFun #BakingMat is the fact that I don’t have to use any type of grease after the first use. It is definitely non-stick so; it is convenient to use. I don’t have to struggle in cleaning it up.

It is super easy to clean and it also keeps my baking sheets messy-free. I tried to rinse the baking mat with just warm water and air dries it, boom ... done and no sweat! This product is dishwasher safe too. I'd like to note also that the design is gorgeous. I love the white and blue color combination. I am so happy to have this product. When I am baking, I use this baking mat a lot.

#Pringles Cheddar Cheese

Anything with cheese and lots of cheese, I love it! I know there's a lot of cheese varieties out there and cheddar is one of the most favorite and chosen by ordinary folks out there, that includes me. I love cheddar cheese in my grilled sandwich in fact, I like it better without the burger in it. Yummy, especially the melted ones. With Pringles, the cheddar cheese flavor is one of my favorites to snack on. I prefer salty snacks than the sweets. I like Pringles with onion dip ... such a heavenly taste to munch, agree?
By the poolside, taking a "me time" and enjoying my Pringles.

Incorporate Leftovers to a New Meal

Do you have leftovers? Do you keep them in the fridge or incorporate them into a new meal? I love to cook for myself and for my husband so; yesterday I decided to make green beans stir fry. Last Sunday, we have a Labor Day family pool party and we have grilled meat leftovers. I need to do something or else, the meat will be hard in few hours. This is what I did. I just stir fry the green beans and put the chicken wings and hotdogs in it. It was so flavorful and of course, my husband eat it at his hearts content. This is not a typical American food but, my husband just loves it. Now, I am heading to the kitchen for brunch and I will be eating this with a steamed rice, want some #Pinoyfood ?

Do You Need a Cleaning Service Company?

We will have a Labor Day party tomorrow and for the last few days, I was trying to keep the house tidy as well as the backyard. It's really hard you know. How I wish I have somebody who would help me out with the household chores. Wishful thinking huh? So far, I can manage but, there are times that I really need someone to lend a hand. We hire lawn guy and pool guy though. The backyard is overwhelming so; in those areas ... I needed help.

If you can afford to hire a cleaning lady, then check out this cleaning service company: http://www.theotherwoman.net/. You may need them anytime soon. As for me, as long as I can maintain the cleanliness inside the house, I am fine and won't possibly need them.

The #Beignets at Cafe' du Monde in New Orleans

Few days ago, 5 of us went to New Orleans Louisiana to visit the #FrenchQuarter and few of the museums in the area. We paid our entrance fee to two of the museums and after doing so; we decided to take a break and have a coffee at Cafe' du Monde. Oh my goodness, I miss these coffee and beignets. The last time I was here was about two years ago.

Beignet is a popular food snack in New Orleans. It's affordable and when we visit the French Quarter, dining in Cafe' du Monde definitely completes the tour. It's like you need to take a box of yummy goodness Pastel when you visit Camiguin Island, Philippines. LOL ... oppss , all of a sudden, I fly to Southeast Asia hahaha. Anyway, I am serious ... you should try the beignets at Cafe' du Monde.

Oh, you should take note that they only accept cash. Your CC is good but, cash is what they need. Besides, 3 pcs of beignets only costs less than $3 so; bring $10/person ... that's more than enough for 2 orders of beignets and a coffee. Affordable right? If you decided to take out a beignet, nah ... I don't know if I recommend especially if you travel back and eat it after 6 hours, LOL. It's not as good as it is served hot. But, if you want ... try to buy a beignet mix, that will be a wise idea.

New Orleans is about an hour and a half from where we are so; when I do miss the beignets, there will be no problem. We can always drive down there and wander in the streets of Bourbon and French Quarter area then, relax at Cafe' du Monde. Hmmm ... awesome thoughts huh?

Hire a Lawyer

In Texas, a father was accused of killing the drunk driver who is responsible of killing the man's two sons. Today, he was acquitted. It was a big relief for the family. Their supporters and sympathizers were satisfied of the verdict. Lack of evidence play an impact towards the outcome of the case. Besides, their lawyers are really good and they know in their heart that they could really win the case. Justice has been served.

Anyway, if you live in North Carolina and you need a lawyer, you may want to check out the lawyers in raleigh nc. You think you are innocent? Then, hire a lawyer who believes that you are innocent!

Wawa : Sizzle Bagel

I am a big fan of #wawa and my favorite is their coffee. When hubby and I flew to Orlando to put the condo in the market, we can only dine out. We can't cook in the condo because it was ready for sale. Here comes WaWa on the rescue. This is really affordable and great for people who are always on the go.

I like bagel and for this transaction, I ordered bacon, egg and cheese. It was a big delight into my mouth.

Here is the coffee that I ordered.  The taste is strong but, super yummy.

Have you tried their Sizzle Bagel? You should try one now!

#HelloKeurig : Keurig 2.0

It was in the afternoon yesterday when I checked my email and I was overwhelmed with joy upon reading the good news from #Influenster informing me that I will soon be receiving a #Keurig 2.0. Oh the smell of coffee! I am so excited!

When I was living for few weeks in my sister-in-law's home, I keep using her Keurig machine. I can drink 4 cups a day because it's just so good. I cannot believe that I will have my own Keurig machine soon for FREE and it is the latest among the keurig line too.

Keurig 2.0 is not even in the market yet but, everyone can pre-order it , you may check it out in your favorite store. So far, I saw it in Target and Walmart. I can't wait to try and review it.

The Big Move: Busy Unpacking

One string of my esp guitar broke and so; it was never been used for so many weeks now. No time to buy the string huh? Actually, I always forgot when I was at the mall. There are many times that I was standing outside the Music store and yet; can't remember to buy it. Once I am done unpacking all the boxes, I will be able to play my guitar again. This big move has kept me busy and I am sure, my busy day will be over soon hopefully.

You Know What I Love ?

You know what I love by living by the Gulf Coast ? Eating seafood, hanging out in the ca - si - no :-) , buffet dining and enjoying the view by the beach. Since we arrived here and actually living here since May 11, we dine out a lot. We are only two so; dining out is cheaper. We eat breakfast at the #JimmyBuffet 's #MargaritaVille and most of the time, we went to #IP , #HardRock , #BeauRivage, and #IslandView for lunch.
Carrot Cake from Beau Rivage "The Buffet"
When we lived here in 2009, I was working in a ca-si-no on a graveyard shift. When I clocked out at 7 AM, hubby and I went straight to other ca-si-no for a breakfast buffet. When I arrived home, I sleep whole day. I woke up for lunch, most of the time dine out again. We seldom use our kitchen.
When I start working again, that will be the regular pattern I guess.

I have chocolates and guess what I did? I made a chocolate covered pretzels which I love! I wonder if #NOO has a chocolate covered pretzels. Anyway, I am still craving for pretzels like daily. Did I run out of pretzels and chocolates? Nope! Everyday, it's my snacks. Guess what? Hubby loves eating pretzels too, minus the chocolates.

Juicy Grilled Ribs

Isn't this good or what? While watching Food Network Channel, boy oh boy ... I was hungry. When I checked the fridge, I found a baby-back ribs. I was so delighted because I can eat a big meal. We have an outdoor grill and we used it a lot. This time, I used the indoor grill besides, I only prep for 1 pound of baby back ribs.

I don't know how you prepare your ribs but mine, I usually brine the meat. 1 hour is fine but, an overnight will tastes better. It will be juicy, tasty and tender. I love using meat that has a little fats on it. With spices, the more ... the merrier! I always love well-done so, the photo below is mine and the first photo is hubby's share.

I am a fan of homemade mashed potato now so; the potato above is alright. I really don't care because I was hungry. We always have vegetables in every plate so, the green beans are just perfect on this plate. Let's chow friends. After devouring this food, I resumed watching TV LOL. Anyway, what's your favorite home cook food?

Let's Chow the Bone Marrow

I know that some vegetarians won't love this photo. I am a foodie and there are times that I craved crazy but, delicious food such as this beef bone marrow. My mom would tell me that bone marrow is nutritious and rich in vitamins and minerals. My further reading suggests that bone marrows are rich in iron and Vitamin A.

So much for that, all I care is the taste. This is a soup based which reminded me when my mom served this for lunch or dinner. This bone marrow is cheaper compared to other parts of the meat and it tastes delicious. How would you like to try this? If you are curious about bone marrow recipe, check it out online, you will find tons of it. Enjoy!

Prosciutto and Egg Sandwich

I love prosciutto. When we do our grocery shopping at BJ's, we go to the Deli first just to avoid the rush for the day. Most of the time, the queue at the Deli is overwhelming because their prices are unbeatable. More or less, it is $6 per lb in BJ's but, in Publix, it is $13/lb . See the difference? Anyway, since I wanted to update my blog today, I need to eat something to keep me going. I decided to make a sandwich with prosciutto and egg. It is delicious and easy to prepare.

I have a wine glass here and I was thinking to use it for my yogurt for a change. I was dining in one of the restaurants in Orlando and my romaine/tuna salad was served using the wine glass like this, how cool huh? Actually, it was a bit awkward and I do not know if they are still using it because, imagine a romaine salad yeah? It is nice for a presentation though but, I don't think the wine glass is good to use for salad. In this case, it is the same hehehe.  It is awkward to dig in. I rather use a bowl or the usual glass.

Anyway, I will be off from my PC in a minute and eat my sandwich. Let's eat. Thank you for stopping by in my blog always. Have a great day.

Add the meatballs to the tomato sauce and simmer until the meatballs are heated through, about 10 minutes. Thin the sauce with chicken stock, 1/4 cup at a time, if needed.

Serve with grated Parmesan cheese alongside.
