Port Canaveral Restaurants: Rusty's Seafood and Oyster Bar

How often do you go to a restaurant? We really don't set a day for it. We go when we feel like it. Here in the space coast, fine dining locations are plenty to choose from. If you are looking for that great ambiance, amazing view by the beach, pleasant service, affordable price and delicious gourmet food, there are numerous places to check out in Port Canaveral and Cocoa Beach area. For now, let's check out:

Rusty's Seafood and Oyster's Bar
628 Glen Cheek Dr, Cape Canaveral, FL 32920
Phone:(321) 783-2033

When I pick a side order, I go for rice. In Rusty's, they have what they called Seasoned Rice. This is tasty and flavorful and it's only $1.99 if ordered separately. With my chosen meal, the seasoned rice comes with it.

The onion rings is $4.99 per order but, for my meal, it's free as well. This is delicious and for every bite of crunchiness, my appetite satisfaction has been fully nourished. How's that for my simple craving? LOL.

Here is the not-so-fun part of my dining experience. On this particular visit, my steak is well-done. When it comes to meat, I like it "well-done" so; this steak in the picture is burnt hehehe. When my server came back and asked me how's my steak, I smiled and I said, it's burnt and it's tough. He said sorry and never replaced it. I did not complain anyway. Steak is one of my favorites in Rusty's and all the time, it's great. On this day, it didn't pass my "taste-bud's-test-taste". It doesn't mean that I don't like Rusty's anymore. I still recommend that you should try Rusty's because this restaurant is my favorite.

My husband loves mussels so he ordered mussels with classic garlic wine sauce. Oh he loves seafood. He loves raw oysters too. I can't eat raw hehehe.
Look at the ambiance where we were seated as we dine. They have an air-conditioned room but, we prefer to listen to the live music outdoor. Besides, it was a gorgeous day and we were waiting for the Disney cruise which will be passing by the restaurant at that time.

Here, take a look at the photo I took on the side. At Rusty's Seafood and Oyster Bar, you will not only enjoy a good meal but, a relaxing view as well. Please visit the Space Coast and check out Port Canaveral Area. Thanks for stopping by.

Onion Rings Recipe

When hubby and I craved for onion rings, he decided to make a homemade onion rings. So far, this is the tastiest onion rings he made. Maybe because of the tasty batter. Try it! It is crunchy and as I said, the batter is truly delicious!

Ingredients:

- 3 large sweet onions
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup milk
- cooking oil for deep frying
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 well beaten egg

Procedure:

Peel the onion and cut it into 1/4-inch thick rounds and separate it into rings. In a bowl, combine the dry ingredients: flour, seasonings, and baking powder. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg and milk then, add this mixture to the dry ingredients, blend well.
Dip the onion ring into the batter and deep fry at about 365°. Make sure to turn both sides and fry until golden brown. Remove and put the onion rings into the paper towels to drain the excess oil. Sprinkle with a little salt upon serving. Enjoy!

Fried Foods

As much as possible, we need to refrain from eating fried food. It is not healthy to our body but, when we are in the fast food restaurants, french fries and fried tilapia are served faster so, it is easy to order. I am guilty for that too but, if given the preference I would prefer steamed rice and slight piece of lean meat with soup. That is only available in a Chinese Buffet. Typical American Restaurants have instant rice, yellow rice and fried rice.Anyway, we went to Cocoa Beach Pier just to hang out. It was a nice day and people were swimming, surfing and just tanning on the shore.I stayed inside the restaurant on the Pier, observing the people and enjoying the good day at the beach. Then, I ordered the fish and fries as well as the gator tails. I don't know but, it seems wierd to eat the gator meat. It was like eating the neck of chickens though, chickens are more tastier especially chicken necks at Sunburst back in the Philippines.Anyway, it's not bad to enjoy the food cravings right? I love fries and when I am at home, I bake them and use the olive oil. Now, these onion rings are so tasty because of the batter. I always have a disaster onion rings at home. Just by looking at this plate, I am now craving for fried foods. Crazy me huh!
Thanks for stopping everyone! I will probably bake the potato fries now! Want some?
