Guitar Strings

Two days ago, I was playing my guitar and one of the strings snapped! Oh boy, I was in the middle of singing and strumming the song "When I was Your Man" , much to my dismay, I quit. Today, I will buy a replacement and I need to find my guitar tuning too. Anyway, if you have been playing the guitar, I am sure you have this kind of experience too. Well, for music enthusiast like you, check out piezo pickup site for all your needs in music related items. Enjoy your day!

Type of Music Preference

The type of #music that we have today is evolving to a higher level in so many aspects. It may not be favorable to people who loves the good ole music but, let's face it, we have a new generation who prefers rap music than classical ones. I do listen to #classicalmusic. Let's face the truth that classical music is well-loved by many up to this time because it is remarkably complex and the quality is unequal. Classical music is meant to last forever.
I do listen to instrumental guitar music too. It soothes my soul and calms me down. But, in this generation where technology is extremely important, making music with the help of musical gadgets is needed such as Electro-Harmonix Pedals. It is a tone wicker and if the young music lover wanted to create distortion and tonal abilities, simple switch of the button will create another dimension of musical creation. Could it be music or Noise? It all depends to the individual listener. For all I know, young generation appreciate this type of music. What type of music do you prefer then?

Watching Music Videos : Guitar Plucking and Harmonica Playing

When I woke up at 3 AM and can't go back to sleep, I find myself hooked on watching YouTube videos preferably, news and music. I watch old movies of Charlie Chaplin and Shirley Temple too. If you haven't seen their movies yet; I dare you to watch and you'll comeback here and thank me for sure.

Lately, I was watching guitar plucking and was deeply in-love with the skills of many YouTube users. They could be famous you know if they pursue their talent and skills. I also watch some videos of those who played harmonica and they're really good. I like Bob Dylan's harmonica solo. I have no skills in playing harmonica but; if you have the talent, go for it. Make sure to check out lee oskar at guitar center if you are looking for instruments and gadgets. Tutorials for any musical instruments are in YouTube too so; get your instrument and start learning.

His Audio Headphone

My husband loves to listen to Pandora and though I like some of his music selection, sometimes he played his music too loud. I bet you know how I feel right? There are times that I want peace and quiet times but, that's the time he played his music with the volume's up. Oh, it was frustrating really!

I found a solution though. I gave him an audio headphone last Christmas and I thought he will not use it but, I was wrong. He used it everyday, thank goodness. Well, it may not be as nice as the american audio headphones but, it sure does solved my problem. Hubby can now listen to Pandora in his own world without annoying me with the loud music. Shhh ... don't tell him about my rant LOL.

Happy Times

One of the most amazing activities that I did when I was in high school was visiting my favorite radio host, Ate Joy A when I have no class. Her radio show was a hit by students plus, her selection of music was truly the best and captured the hearts of young listeners in my time. Sundays, I hang out in the radio station and she has shown me how to operate those confusing keys. Which key to turn on when there's a caller and how to put them on the air.

There was a recording studio and I tell you what, they have a singing contest as well and yep, I am one of those who can't make up to the monthly finals LOL. Anyway, inside the studio, it was overwhelming but, in a good way. Singing was like using the save on scarlett 2i2 and my voice sounds better inside the booth. I miss those times of joining the singing competition and playing the requested music on air. Those days were happy times for me.

Remembering Friends and Family at Christmas Time

I am not done shopping yet. I am not even done sending Christmas cards to my friends and family. Today is the last day of sending Christmas presents in the mail and it will still arrive on Christmas day. I received many Christmas cards from friends and family already and yes, the thoughts really matter. It is heartwarming to know who truly remembers you at Christmas time. Today, we will pick up some presents in the store and directly send them in the post office.

How about you? Are all the presents put together under the Christmas tree yet? If something missing for the music minded member in the family, take a last minute shopping of a jones oboe reed medium today. If you think this present will delight him/her on Christmas Day then, go get it. Have a wonderful Christmas you all and may your Christmas be filled with good cheer, happiness and love.

Singing the Christmas Carols

When I look around in our neighborhood today, I felt the nostalgia. There are few families who are ready for Christmas and most of them have their Christmas lights and decors set up already. Christmas back home is more fun! I remember that as early as December 1, there are carolers roaming in our streets and most of them do the caroling for a good cause. They give out letters and they will come when the family said yes to their request.

The carolers have their guitarist, a soloist and they usually sang 3 to 4 songs. Their guitar is not as fancy as the  taylor baby guitar mahogany top but, they sang beautifully. By now, the church choir is busy practicing for Christmas songs every night. As a matter of fact, my mom is busy in her church group too. They're practicing a Christmas Carol for their up coming Christmas party.

College Life: Student, Working Scholar and Glee Club

College is the most exciting and interesting years of my life. I was working in the main library in the University and attending classes in between. At 7 PM, library is closed but; I am not ready to go home yet. My extra-curricular activity will start at 8 PM so; I have the time to have dinner before my Glee Club practice begins.

Music brings peace amidst my hectic schedules as a student and my role as a working scholar in the library. I was never tired. At the most, we have two hours practice at the Little Theater. I missed those days. When we were early and waiting for our most beloved conductor, we will just randomly pick a song and sings Acapella. When someone started to hum a song, others would make their own voices creating one beautiful harmony of music. We have microphones just like the mxl 991 at musician's friend and only the soloist will use them. Our voices are loud enough for the entire theater. I always cherish the years while I was in college. The Glee Club serves as the balance between my work and student life.

Pink Violin

This is a cool violin isn't it? Does any of your family plays violin? I think this is one of the hardest instruments to learn. Whoever plays with violin, I call them genius! I can only play the guitar, not an expert though and I don't see myself playing a violin. It is too complicated for me.

If you are wondering where you can buy this gorgeous violin, you can buy cellos at musicians friend. I just love the flower prints of this product and though it is so pink, it is not overpowering.

Singing is a Natural Stress Reliever

After lunch, I was so bored all of a sudden. I took my magic sing out from the box and started singing. It feels so good you know and even if the volume was a bit louder, my husband just let me have my "me" time. After about an hour, I thought of strumming my guitar. It's been a long while that I played my guitar. In fact, my fingernails are longer now, proof that I never used my guitar for months.

The guitar was my birthday present from dear husband about two years ago. It's not as great as the synyster gates guitar but, I love it. I end up plucking the chorus of a song. I memorize the melody too well but, the title of the song was forgotten for good. I really can't remember and I have nobody to ask. My friend who now lives in Europe knows about the song for sure. I might ask her when I saw her online. Anyway, singing is my hobby. It is a natural stress-reliever, would you agree?

Good Food and Great Music

I have a friend in college and we get along well especially with shopping, good food and great music. My friend has her own music composition. She loves to record her own music and download the video online. Of course, we (her friends in college) enjoyed hearing her voice again. Her videos are mostly live from the gig she went to at night. She also shared her acoustic version of some hit songs. I bet if she uses avid pro tools download, her recordings will be perfect.

She might like the idea. When we were in college, we sing-a-along and record our informal singing jamming sessions using a tape recorder in fact, I still have them. Those are fun memories to remember.
