I was watching a real life story of a teacher who was a victim of Identity Theft. There was this woman who was so envious of the life of the young teacher who was happily married. She was stealing the mail from her mail box and from that point on, she was able to know where she work and acquire all other personal information without the knowledge of the teacher. Identity theft is a very serious problem here in the US. If you are not careful, then you will be the next victim.
The victim's pursuit of justice was not easy. It took her years and in fact, there was a time when she was held up in the airport as impostor, her identity was used in illegal because when that theft was arrested for human trafficking, she used the teacher's name.
After year's of running from the police authority, she was finally apprehended and the teacher finally get back her life. But, the shadow is lurking behind her name. It totally damage her life, put a big scar on her name and a damaging credit score. All of us are vulnerable in this type of fraudulent act so, take precautionary measures and don't trust anyone.
