Garden Cafe' and Great Outdoor a Freestyle Dining at Norwegian Sky Cruise Line

Looks like a Filipino food right? Well, I have no doubt that the cook in the Garden Cafe' and Great Outdoor restaurant is a Filipino. NCL company has 13 cruise ships and I happen to experienced cruising the Norwegian Sky. There are 80% of the Norwegian Sky crews came from the Philippines. I heard positive feedback about them in terms of workmanship.Anyway, our room attendant was an Indian and she was polite and courteous.A bar tender in the Great Outdoor gave me a terrible service. When he saw me approaching for my drinks refill, he made me wait. I thought he had important things to finish on his cash register. A man sat beside me and the bar tender started to entertain him and pretend not to see me. My husband observed that incident. Anyway, after the man left I asked the bar tender to refill my mug and he was sarcastic when he told me to open the lid of my mug. I was not satisfied with his service and he saw me holding my $5 and put it back in my wallet. The next day, he was so good to me and asked me where I came from. He was a Filipino, too bad huh?This restaurant is a buffet dining and the guests can occupy any seats they want and anywhere they like. Unlike the other cruise line, guests have a sitting arrangement all throughout the cruise duration. Not in a Free style cruising! Guests here can eat any time they want and they can order a room service for FREE of charge.The ship is huge, clean and most of the crews gave an excellent service to us. Breakfast at the Freestyle Dining of Norweigian Sky

At 6 AM, my husband and I are already awake. All he could think was coffee so, we went to the Great Outdoor and Garden Cafe' on the 11th deck of Norwegian Sky Cruise Ship. We had 4-days cruising to Bahamas hopping to three islands of Freeport, Nassau and Great Stirrup Cay which is the Private Island of NCL From the moment we stepped on board, the party begins.We went directly to the Garden Cafe' for lunch. The first two pictures were taken at the Crossings, one of the fine dining areas in Norwegian Sky.This is the view of the poolside on the 11th deck. I bought a Bahama Mama and some souvenir items from the ship.This is the Garden Cafe' early in the morning.I actually eat breakfast early so, by 7:00 AM , I'm done eating. You should try the fine dining experience.

The Freestyle Dining At Norwegian Sky Cruise Line

Last October, we took a 4 day-cruise to Bahamas thru Norwegian Cruise Line. We had fun times on board and inland when we explore the Freeport as well as Nassau. Norwegian Sky takes pride in offering their guest the Freestyle Cruising where the freedom on what to do and on what to see will depend on the choices of the guests. I enjoyed the Freestyle Dining the most because I can eat where and when I want.For breakfast, we love to dine in early in the Garden Cafe' and Great Outdoor which is a buffet style dining. Most of the servers are Asian and majority is Filipino. If you like a fine dining, you can go to the Crossings and the Palace Main Dining Room. You don't need to give your servers any tip because all guests are required to pay it per day. Hubby and I still give tips to the servers especially when they did a good job.  They don't require formal attire in the fine dining areas but, when we have dinners, most of us wore formal dresses. During breakfast and lunch, we wore casuals. Both Crossings and Palace Main Dining Rooms have cozy and elegant ambiance especially when dinners are served. You are paying for it so; you might as well enjoy the fine dining experience. The picture above is the poolside area on the 11th deck. The stairs will lead down to the Great Outdoor and Garden Cafe'. We just love it here for breakfast and we love to occupy the seats nearby the full glass window. It's just awesome to see the calm seas while having breakfast.I like the free style dining because I can sit to any table and in any dining area that I want in any time. In the other cruise lines, you have no freedom like that. You are stuck to the selected time and you are stuck to the same people who join with you on the table.Anyway, the food in Norwegian Sky is really delicious. Oh, that's the breakfast of my hubby just a pancake with butter and coffee with cream. One more thing, in Freestyle dining, you have the freedom to have your food delivered in your room free of charge. How nice and convenient is that right?

Good Morning

Good morning everyone! What's for breakfast? I am not really a morning person but, I eat a lot (",). I am a Filipino so I prefer plain white rice and dried fish and dunk it to a spicy vinegar. Im drooling for this food right now. Anyway, I cannot have that so; an alternate is an egg 'tortilla' with mushroom and lots of cheese in it with a tasty bagel.I had this breakfast while we dine in the Palace Restaurant in the Norwegian Sky Cruise on the date specified in the picture. The server that we have is a Filipino and we gave him a tip for a good service.

Anyway, I am hungry right now so; I guess I will have my rice with an egg and cheese omellette. Let's eat!

Souvenirs at Norwegian Sky

If you are planning to cruise via the Norwegian Sky, alcohol drinks are not included in the ticket. A beer would cost at least 7.50 but if you drink a lot, you might as well buy the Bar Manager's Special for the day. A bucket of beer is cheaper and some special wines are sold in discounted price. They also have the Island Signature Specials and Flavored Martinis. I bought this martini for $7.95 in yellow souvenir glass. Sodas are not included in your ticket too. What's included in the ticket is tea, coffee and juices. If you are thirsty for soda, you can buy a Pepsi Product for less than $30 using this souvenir glass. They will have a sticker on your keycard and it will be free refill with in the entire trip. It is actually cheap if you drink a lot of soda.

Cruising to a Paradise Island

OMG! After reading all the amenities, the activities and the cruising destination of Cunard, I was like dreaming again to have a cruise vacation. There are countless of instances that our plan for cruising was put off. I own a card that gives so much discount and unbelievable price even if we decided at the last minute. I believe in my heart that one of these days, our cruising will be push through. Finger crossed now and my dream to having a Caribbean Cruise will soon come. If I have to choose, I would love to cruise in every places which has the route for cruising destinations. The popular cruising destination includes the wonderful European cruise, the amazing Mediterranean cruise, the exotic Alaska and Hawaii and many more. I live in Florida and for an hour drive, a cruise terminal is just right there and so accessible all the time. As for Cunard Cruise, their ships include Queen Mary, Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria which has their own destination and sometimes, go as far as New York.
