The Teacher
I was a teacher by profession, and I taught the first grade for 12 years. I love my job and I care about my students. When I got married, I filed a resignation because I moved to the US for good. My life as a teacher was exciting and every year, we celebrate teacher appreciation week. The school does not usually celebrate this activity but, our division has the special programs for us.
I taught the public school and the hardest part was teaching the children on the first two months of the school year. On the first day of the class, there are children who come to school with no school bags and no pencils or papers. I provided them with what they need inside the classroom. The budget was taken from my own pocket.
To make my room conducive to learning, I also spent money for the paint, screen doors and other things. My effort will have a positive outcome because my students would come to school regularly. They love to stay in the classroom and eager to learn the lessons. As a teacher, it makes me happy when I see them graduate in elementary and continue their studies to high school and college.

At The Beau Rivage Breakfast Buffet
We dine in at the Beau Rivage for breakfast and on Thursdays, the price is back to regular for Seniors. But, the food is still great for a $10 price in the buffet. This is actually my second plate and I ate it all. Oh, I just love the cherry tomato in my salad.
Hubby and I had our week-long vacation in Mississippi and we stayed at the Beau Rivage Hotel and Casino.
We miss the buffet in every casino in Biloxi, Mississippi. The choices are so many and so affordable. You will never get hungry with seafoods in this area. I love my porkchop and I miss it already.

Flatbread at Subway
It has been a long time since I ordered a Five Dollar Footlong Sandwich at Subways. Hubby and I were waiting for his prescription at the Wal-Mart Pharmacy so; we decided to wait in Subways. We saw a $3 combo which is a flatbread and coffee comes with it. OMG! You should try the flatbread at Subways. It is really delicious and very healthy too.
If the footlong is too huge for your appetite, or hard for the bite, you can order a flatbread. 
Try the combo first and if you love it, you can order the regular size flatbread.
Horror Movies
I am a horror movie fan! Well, I am afraid of ghosts and I do not intend to scare myself to death. Buffet at the Beau Rivage
Dining out is just one of the activities that we enjoyed doing while we live in Mississippi. So, when we had our week long vacation last week, we had our breakfast at the Beau Rivage. It was a Wednesday so, the Beau had a buffet deal for seniors. We only paid $19.00 for the three of us at the Beau Rivage Hotel and Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi. 
When I was working in the casino a year ago, I was in the graveyard shift and in the morning, we always dine out for breakfast. I miss that! All casinos in the area have a buffet all day long. I do not prepare for our breakfast anymore so, when I arrive home, I can sleep for the day.
This is the main lobby of the Beau Rivage. The buffet area is at the right end part of the lobby, behind that tree. The food is delicious and there are so much to choose from. Breakfast is usually less than $10/person but, for Mondays, Beau has specials for military: 2 for 1 breakfast/lunch. Every Tuesdays, the kids eat for free; Wednesdays, seniors are charged half price. Other casinos have their own specials too. When we dine out before, we always go to the places with good deals.

Seafood Galore
We went to the shrimpboats at the back of Hard Rock Biloxi and bought 20lbs of jumbo shrimps for $4/lb to give to friends back to Florida. The price of small shrimps in Orlando is $9/lb just like the picture below. What we have is really bigger than this.
This shrimp is small size. It is usually priced as $2/lb but, we wanted a jumbo so, that's what we got. 
My husband ate the crab meat which I am not a fan of. I was actually looking for crawfish but, this is not it's season. So, no one sells crawfish at this time.
This is the blue crab which is a famous catch along the Gulf Coast. They are so beautiful and big too. If it is a crab season, you can catch it easy.
Well, the house smells like shrimps now. Let's chow everyone!

A Dear Friend in the Hospital
I have been to the hospital the other day to visit a friend who had a sprain ankle. He had been complaining about it for almost a week and yesterday, he tripped. He was admitted to the hospital and he will be there until they diagnosed what is wrong with him. He has a young male doctor and I must admit, he is really an attractive doctor. Anyway, my friend had some medication for his pain so; he was able to rest well in the hospital.

I can tell that he was a Pediatrician. I am not sure if he was a doctor though. Are you working in the hospital? Crunchy Fried Chicken
Being a blogger, whenever I am and no matter how simple a subject that caught my eye, my camera is ready for a snap. Sometimes, I already ate everything on my plate and forgot to take a picture for reasons that the food I ate was simply delicious. I have this plate from Golden Corral and their fried chicken is my favorite. In fact, I go there for their fried chicken.
Hmmm, I thought of going to Golden Corral today too. It's been ages that I went there.

I actually have been looking at their website and found out that all their properties are of high standards and on a good location too! Hot Tamales
When we went to Harrah's Hotel in New Orleans, they have a buffet and we took the time to dine in for a late lunch before heading back to Mississippi. We enjoyed it because the food was delicious and so many to choose from.
As you can see, they have hot tamales and it was my first time to see and tasted it. I though it was the same as our "Binaki" in the Philippines. When I took a big bite, I don't like it because it was spicy and the taste is not right. I am used to eating a sweet corn baked with milk and other ingredients. Hot tamales is not the kind of food that I love.

When I go for a buffet, I seldom eat from the pastry area because the main entree' alone can fill me up. But, when I am starving, I can manage a plate of my favorite sweet foodies.

I used to visit Bem-Bem where she works. She was my aunt granny and whenever there are parties of her employer, she was there to help prepare two of her famous recipes: Croquetas de Pollo and Pollo Fettuccini in white sauce. FishLips Waterfront Bar and Grill
After writing four posts today, Hubby said we will go to Port Canaveral for a short ride. It was not really a short ride because more or less it is an hour road trip passing Indian River, Banana river, Titusville and Cocoa Beach. Anyway, Port Canaveral and those places I mentioned are just nearby. After having migraine for 4 days, it is really good to go out today and hang out in Cocoa Beach.
First stop, we had lunch at Fishlips Waterfront Bar and Grill at Port Canaveral. This is my first visit on this restaurant and was lucky too, Sarah Peacock, a fast rising singer was there for a solo performance as part of her concert tour. 
I ordered steamed white rice and a jumbo 5 pcs wings with sweet iced tea. The iced tea was bland and tasted like water. I ordered another glass but, it seems they did not check the taste of the iced tea, I can't taste the tea, LOL. Okay, I ordered steamed white rice but, I was given an instant yellow rice. My jumbo wings were good though. I enjoyed my food because of the music of Sarah and because the ambiance is great. My feeling was somewhat like a dealfun.com where I am comfortable.
My husband eat all his creamy soup because he was hungry but, he can't taste the broccoli in it. I tasted his scallop with polenta and it taste alright. The food in this place is good and not bad at all based from what we ordered. I expect that it taste better than the nearby restaurants but, it's not!
I like their place though. The ambiance is great and all the decors are fantastic. The servers are nice and very courteous in fact, we gave a good tip. We plan to visit anytime next month with a friend and see if the food will be better in taste and if they will give me the rice I want, LOL.
Would I recommend this place? Of course, I will! This restaurant is clean, beautiful, excellent ambiance with a nice bar, smoking area separating people who don't smoke and nice view over the waterfront.

Sexy Halloween Costumes
Did I tell you that I attended a wedding which was held on a Halloween Night? I really thought it was weird but, when I was there I had a blast! The groom was dressed in a vampire white suit and the bride wore a white dress with a makeup so pale as if she was dead. Honestly, they do not look scary even though the ambiance of the house has mummies hanging in a corner and a coffin across it. The couple was in their 50's and they wanted a unique wedding so; I was there and everyone had a good time.
I was wearing black attire and I was a witch that night. My husband had a Jason costume with a mask and a plastic dagger. There were kids around, grandchildren of the couple who are wearing Disney costumes, hero costumes and animal costumes. I like the cute little girl who was wearing a bee costume. The older guests were wearing Sexy Halloween Costumes such as a secretary, a lady referee, a sexy vampire and a cheerleader. It was really fun because during the ceremony, the wedding ring was taken from the hands of a talking skeleton. The couple stands on the terrace and all the guests gathered on the poolside. The food was great and everyone had a costume to brag. I like Cleopatra that night because she was so gorgeous.

Eggnog on Christmas
Back in the Philippines, the spirit of Christmas starts when September comes. People started to decorate their homes for Christmas Season. The Malls will start displaying the Christmas decors and turning on Christmas lights inviting customers to buy the latest display of beautiful lanterns and stars.
