Pork Adobo

Oh my goodness! This is so good. Thanks to #YouTube for the video. It is so easy to follow a recipe by viewing it. Pork Adobo is one of my favorite food and of course, with rice and soda, this meal satisfies my craving for Filipino foods. For health conscious and vegetarian, this is not for you.

What are the Ingredients?
- 2 lbs pork belly
- 2 tbsp garlic crushed
- 2 pieces bay leaves
- 4 tbsp vinegar
- 1 cup soy sauce
- 1 tbsp whole pepper corn
- 1 cup water
- salt to taste

Here's the Procedure:
1.In a bowl, combine the pork belly, soy sauce and garlic; marinade for at least 2 hours
2.On a hot pan, cook the marinated pork belly for few minutes, cover.
3.Then, add water, pepper corn and bay leaves.
4. Bring to a boil and simmer for 40 minutes to 1 hour.
4. Add the vinegar and simmer for about 15 minutes.
5. Add salt to taste.

  1. Wow, that sure looks amazing! And I have adobo in my spice cupboard. Now to find those pork bellies, I have never seen them in the store. Do I need to go to a specialty shop?

    1. Hi Anita,
If you can't find pork belly, you can actually use any meat you want. I use pork belly because it is more delicious with fats in it, (not healthy huh? Oppss :-) Anyway, adobo is not only limited to pork. You can have Chicken adobo and other type of meat as well. Enjoy!
