When our car broke down, we rely on the manuals and if we can't fix it, professionals can do it and it can be very expensive.

Of course, trouble shooting is the first action that we do when our car shows a sign of needing the repair. What happen if the manual is lost and you can't find it? Food is Delightful

My husband and I have no vices and we both love to dine out. It started when we live in Mississippi with my father-in-law. As a matter of fact, we are influenced by him and hopping from restaurant to other were just ordinary activity for the three of us.He was 89 and we all love gardening. We ate breakfast at home though then, I would go to the garden to keep me busy and he would help out sort of making him active. When we are hungry, it was easy to put on clothes and go than prepare something at home; sort of finding a lost appetite! He would go to the finest restaurants in the area and he gives huge tip to the server.
He was a big fan of Subway and he loves their soup. He loves to eat and when we go to the buffet in the casino hotel in the area, we would eat first and play the slots afterwards.
His favorite is Hardrock and the Isle of Capri because every time he play a slot, he would win. One time, we went to Hardrock on a Wednesday which they offer 50% on the buffet from $25/dinner. When we pay, our ticket has $82 bills for three because the promo was good up to 6pm. It was past 6pm at that time and I cancel it and told him we would go to another casino.
He told the cashier he would pay anyway because he is rich and he has money. My husband rolled out laughing! I had no appetite to eat knowing it was my fault to came in late! He was enjoying his food! Anyway, when we go out and he put $50 on the machine, he hit the jackpot and won $700. The best thing was, he quit playing right after winning a game. Did you know that they don't like that? That is why in most places, if you won a lot, they would offer you big time deal such as FREE rooms for the night so; they could get back their money if you keep on playing. They will not force you though! In fact, their advice is "KNOW WHEN TO QUIT". My father-in-law quit when he is winning!

My Husband

Guest post written by Joseph Finch

When my husband gets home from a long day at the office what he usually wants to do is to veg out in front of the TV and watch the news. I know I shouldn’t be jealous but with all the 24 hour news channels our www.TVBYDIRECT.COM satellite gets he can sometimes be sitting there for hours looking at stocks and market prices when I feel like what he should really be doing is catching up with me after a long day! I stay at home with the kids so by the time he gets back I’m really starved for some adult interaction and I really wish we could just chill out at the kitchen table with a nice glass of wine instead of listening to Wolf Blitzer yell about one thing or another on the TV. I think I may talk to him about it but on the other hand I don’t want to take away the one thing that can relax him after a hard day at the office…what do you guys think?

Delicious Filipino Desserts

This is "malagkit", one of my favorite snacks back home. It is made from glutinous rice garnished with "latik" or coconut milk residue topped with bits of peanuts and cheese.I am not sure what to call this. It is made of pearl, young coconut, milk, and mango. These are "fresh lumpia" or spring roll with vegies inside, "puto"or rice cake with cheese, and "maja blanca" or coconut pudding.Fried spring roll with gravy. I can't remember the taste now LOL. It must be deliciousThis is a cassava cake made from manioc and in our grocery stores it is called yuca. The Puerto Ricans and Mexicans love to make this too.
When I visited the Philippines last year, I bought these desserts all the time. I would trade the cake and ice cream for these foods, oh yeah. This is "siopao", a steamed Hot Bun, it is actually a dumpling with sweet mongo filling. Some Chinese restaurant here in the US have this "nilusak na saging" which is made from banana with shred of coconut .This is my entry for Yummy Sunday. Thanks for the visit everyone and for stopping by last week. I will see you in your blogs.

Tropical Orange Freeze

I am chilling with my Tropical Orange Freeze right now. Not really my favorite but, it quenched my thirst on this warm day in Florida. When you are dining out, as much as possible do not order a soda. Just order something different such as the tropical orange freeze or berry fruit juice which are definitely healthy drinks.

Cordell and Cordell

Yesterday evening, I was watching the nastiest and the ugliest divorce settlements of celebrities. They featured 40 couples and I noticed that mostly the women are the ones filing for the divorce. One celebrity paid 80 million to the wife and she had so many accusations towards him. What was ridiculous was that the wife was entitled to receive even her monthly expenses for beauty enhancement. Indeed, some of these divorce settlements turned ugly especially with money matters. There are two men that I know who filed bankruptcy because of a nasty divorce!Generally in Divorce cases, men are found at fault but, Cordell & Cordell is a law firm that focuses on men clients. This firm is dedicated to protect the rights of father's, their interests including the interests of their children. If you are in need of a lawyer for your divorce case, check out the link of this Website today. You should make sure that the lawyer is competent so that your rights will be protected. Baked Potato Soup at Tony Roma's

This is a baked potato soup from Tony Roma's topped with grated cheddar cheese, bacon and chives. You should try it. It is very creamy and filling. You will asked for more so; you better order the bowl than the cup. It really doesn't make the difference. The crunchiness and saltiness of the bacon adds the flavor of the soup. The cheese makes it so creamy and tasty. The soup? ahhh...so good and you will be filled with satisfaction.

Cool Drinks from Olive Garden

Back in PI, the AC in the house is not centralized. My bedroom has window AC and that's it. I seldom use it because my place is located uptown. The breeze is cooler especially at night. Honestly, here in Florida at summertime it is really hot and humid. Seemed like a "Holy Week" kind-a season! So, plenty of liquid and cold juices can help cool down my scorching day. Here's what I love: a blue berry fresca. The picture below is a berry aqua fresca, so refreshing! Then, the last one is bella lemonata still from Olive Garden. The tastes are different but, I just realized now that the pictures looks similar. If you happen to dine in at this Italian Restaurant, don't order a soda! Try these drinks!

Beautiful Island of Hawaii

The volcanic soil of Hawaii is perfect for plants and some animals. The state flower of Hawaii is the hibiscus. It grows to as much as 8 feet with colorful petals and used as medicinal plants. This plant thrives in either wet or dry climates so it really suited for the tropical weather in Hawaii. The Wikiwili Tree which is also native to Hawaii has a sturdy wood used in making of surf boards, canoes and even some fishing boats. The tree grows as tall as 35 feet. Free Breakfast

Whenever hubby and I feeling bored at home, we usually go and drive down to the mall or to IKEA home furnishings. We are fascinated with the room designs and all the home decors of that store so; we just love window shopping then, head to their food court or either way. Did you know that some IKEA stores offer FREE breakfast and that includes FREE unlimited coffee? If you come early before 9:30 AM, shoppers can eat this food for FREE. The store opens at 10AM but, you can walk through the store and see the display earlier than that. Sometimes, they offer FREE kids meal too. IKEA is a Swedish store and their business clicks to the American customers.

Real Estate in Hawaii

Would you love to live in Hawaii? Will I do! The same as all the thousands of American’s who wanted a safer home for their family. We are all looking forward to live in a good environment, beautiful views, and best of all the lovely tropical climate. I always dream that one day my husband and I would sell our house here in Florida and reside in Hawaii but looking at how things are going today with the collapse of the economy and property market, it seems that dream would just have to wait. Some of my husband’s relatives lived in Hawaii; they migrated way back in the 80’s and they are very happy with how they had settled in. In fact Emily, my husband’s cousin told me that she and her family has no plans of coming back to live in Florida as she really felt safe in Hawaii compared to when she was here back in the 80’s. Then it makes me wonder about Hawaii’s crime rates? Well, according to my husband’s cousin, there are also some crimes in Hawaii, but not as worst as some major cities in mainland USA.

As far as family home values in Hawaii, they say that the real estate in Hawaii had some good deals! Well, that would also depend on location and how big and attractive the property is. Anyway, all I can say is, if you got the money to buy a property and live in Hawaii, then go for it! Check out the link now and find some really good deal too, by looking online what is hot and new in the property ladder in Hawaii.

Green Mango with Spicy Shrimp Fry

Here I am again craving for something out of the ordinary. Chocolates, pastries, ice creams and cakes are the ordinary food that you can just grab in the grocery here. But, I am not a big fan of these "sweet tooth" faves even though these "yummylicious foodies" are very affordable here. It's just like buying a "bananacue" in the "sari-sari" stores. But, since I am not in PI, craving for "Pinoy" foodie like the green mango is hard to find and I can only buy "uyap" in the Asian store. Of course it's different if you live in California where you can buy everything your tastebuds desire. Anyway, I was able to buy the green mango at PUBLIX but, it's a product from Mexico.I really thought that it's sour but, after dipping a big slice of green mango to a spicy "uyap" (drooling), OhEmGeeee...so yummy, LOL!
Now, I still crave for more! I hope this variety of mango is still there tomorrow.

Beautiful Smile

It is awkward to smile if you have missing teeth right? If you are looking for a dentist around the pacific zone like California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Texas then, I suggest that you check out this website called smilegeneration.com. This is probably the fastest and easiest way to get a dental appointment. I also found out that their dental charges are a lot cheaper than the charges from our family dentist.I was recently fitted with a crown on my premolar teeth and it took me 2 visits to the dentist and a week interval to have it sorted out. This is because as my dentist explained, those crowns are made on a laboratory which is not located at her clinic so; there was a waiting time of a week to have the 2nd appointment.

I found out that with Smile Generation Dentists, it only takes a day to have it all done! The crowns are made and done for as quickly as 2 hours, no need for a second appointment. This company is $100 cheaper than what I paid for mine. They are also using an electronic dental record system and you can view data’s such as x-rays and charts on a flat screen monitor on your chair-side. But, in some clinics like where I go, they do not bother to show the records of their patients. Booking an appointment is easy at smilegeneration.com. You can book it online or call on them on a toll free number 1-800 SmileGen (764 5343) and you are all set! Oh, one last thing, on their website, they currently have some discount voucher, so you might as well check it out too!

Joe's Crab Shack at Semoran Blvd

We live just 5 minutes away from major stores, fine dining restaurants, and food chains. Lucky us to have found such great location right? Anyway, I am not feeling well for almost a week but, last night I had this craving for food. I told my hubby that I will treat him for a date, well, it was past 8 at night such an impromptu plan thought really!Joe's Crab Shack is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. It is actually beside High Tide Harry's, another favorite place but, we decided to dine in at Joe's that night. When we came in, it's amazing to tell you guys, they are open up to midnight. There's few people who come and go in pairs and in groups. It was a nice evening and I was starving so I ordered a Stuffed Mushroom and hubby ordered shrimp and fish. Mine was only less than $8 and hubby's food costs $11, which was not bad considering it's dinner time.I ordered an appetizer thinking I can order an entree' in few minutes. My eyes is truly bigger than my stomach because after eating halfway, I was full. I was eyeing on the Seafood sampler where it has a calamari and shrimps on it.I gave only $5 tip for a $23 bill. Such affordable for a dinner really! Well, a server should get 20% tip from the diners because their pay is less than $5/hour mostly. I am not sure how much in this restaurant though but, that's what I know in some establishments here.We enjoyed our food and we ate most of it and the server was alright. This place is crowded when there's an NFL game or any sports game. If you crave for seafood, crabs in any kind, this place has the best of it. Well, the price differ in every state. If you live in Mississippi, you will enjoy bigger and cheaper king crabs or dungeness crab. Here's the set-up of their shop where you can buy Joe's souvenir products with that hungry shark watching on you.
Here's the look inside the restaurant. I refrain from taking pictures where people are dining, it's rude, right? Anyway, it's blurry because I am only using a blackberry phone camera.
That's my little rendezvous last night. Craving for food is one thing that I can't just ignore.
This is my entry for this week's Yummy Sunday. Thanks for the visit everyone!
